= Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany: The Karlsruhe Physics Course = ##FIELD OF RESEARCH / PROJECT NAME: Curriculum development / The Karlsruhe Physics Course Friedrich Herrmann, Michael Pohlig == DESCRIPTION == The current physics curriculum essentially follows the historical development of physics. The historical path was determined by many coincidences and therefore can be considered as detours from today's point of view. Therefore, there is a great potential for simplification. If this is taken into account, the physics-teaching not only becomes shorter, but also clearer and more understandable. We have tried to develop such a physics curriculum. All parts of our curriculum were tested in several rounds under normal teaching conditions. == REFERENCES == [[http://www.physikdidaktik.uni-karlsruhe.de]] === The Karlsruhe Physics Course === english: http://www.physikdidaktik.uni-karlsruhe.de/kpk/english/Mechanics_Senior_High.pdf german: http://www.physikdidaktik.uni-karlsruhe.de/dl-counter/download/Mechanik_SekII.pdf === Historical burdens on physics === english: http://www.physikdidaktik.uni-karlsruhe.de/publication/Historical_burdens/150_Mass_rest_mass_etc.pdf http://www.physikdidaktik.uni-karlsruhe.de/publication/Historical_burdens/148_Dilatation_contraction_expansion.pdf http://www.physikdidaktik.uni-karlsruhe.de/publication/Historical_burdens/149_Special_Relativity_and_change_of_reference_frame.pdf http://www.physikdidaktik.uni-karlsruhe.de/publication/Historical_burdens/151_GPS_correction_and_GTR.pdf http://www.physikdidaktik.uni-karlsruhe.de/publication/Historical_burdens/153_Movement_through_spacetime.pdf http://www.physikdidaktik.uni-karlsruhe.de/publication/Historical_burdens/156_The_relativity_of_simultaneity.pdf http://www.physikdidaktik.uni-karlsruhe.de/publication/Historical_burdens/163_The_name_theory_of_relativity.pdf http://www.physikdidaktik.uni-karlsruhe.de/publication/Historical_burdens/172_The_I,_the_observer_and_the_good_Lord.pdf http://www.physikdidaktik.uni-karlsruhe.de/publication/Historical_burdens/176_Mass_and_matter.pdf german (Altlasten der Physik zur RT): http://www.physikdidaktik.uni-karlsruhe.de/altlast/Band_III/168_Masse_Ruhmasse_invariante%20Masse.pdf http://www.physikdidaktik.uni-karlsruhe.de/altlast/Band_III/172_Dilatation_Kontraktion_Expansion.pdf http://www.physikdidaktik.uni-karlsruhe.de/altlast/Band_III/173_Relativitaetstheorie_und_Bezugssystemwechsel.pdf http://www.physikdidaktik.uni-karlsruhe.de/altlast/Band_III/174_GPS_Korrektur_und_ART.pdf http://www.physikdidaktik.uni-karlsruhe.de/altlast/Band_III/176_Bewegung_in_der_Raumzeit.pdf http://www.physikdidaktik.uni-karlsruhe.de/altlast/Band_III/179_Die_Relativitaet_der_Gleichzeitigkeit.pdf http://www.physikdidaktik.uni-karlsruhe.de/altlast/Band_III/180_Die_Postulate_der_Relativitaetstheorie.pages.pdf http://www.physikdidaktik.uni-karlsruhe.de/altlast/Band_III/188_Die_Bezeichnung_Relativitaetstheorie.pdf http://www.physikdidaktik.uni-karlsruhe.de/altlast/Band_III/197_Das_Ich_und_der_Beobachter.pdf http://www.physikdidaktik.uni-karlsruhe.de/altlast/Band_III/201_Masse_und_Materie.pdf
